Today was a very exciting day! In the morning I took a dip with the Swimming class and then paddled some with the Canoeing class before we put in some boats to do canoe slides. The water was very refreshing, and I got to enjoy a little mid-morning treat with a Farm and Garden class that was preparing some pesto with basil form our very own waterfront-garden! It was even more delicious because we made it ourselves!
During Rest Hour I got to play at the Nature Nook with the campers who are not in a Farm and Garden class. It was so fun running around with the chickens and the sheep! In the afternoon I joined the Hip Hop class for some hip and hoppin’ moves in anticipation of the Castle Revue show that is coming up in a few days. Afterwards I stopped by Glee Club and dropped in on their song-writing session. We really do have some creative and talented campers!
Speaking of Creativity and Talent, tonight’s Evening Program was Talent Night! There were nearly two dozen acts of various natures, from tumbling, to dancing, and singing. Every camper that had the courage to go on the Castle stage and perform by themselves, with others, or as whole cabins blew everyone in the audience away. I am always impressed by the campers who perform for us, and this session’s campers never cease to make me smile with joy and pride. Only a true Merrie-Woode girl can arch, ride, swim, paddle, and make a masterpiece during the day only to show off a completely different set of talents at night.
Feeling especially warm and fuzzy,
Tajar
