Today was a very special day at camp because it was a Thursday, and everyone knows that more exciting things happen on Thursdays than any other day. This morning I celebrated this fact by jumping into the lake and swimming around for a bit before joining the Contemporary Dance class and practicing for the Castle Revue that is coming up soon. Next, I hopped over to Weaving to inspect the progress of the pillows that are being so carefully crafted, then over to Ceramics where some campers were being taught how to use the pottery wheel. Exciting stuff all around!
We had a very special guest join us in the afternoon—the Balloon Fairy came to visit and grant all of our balloon wishes with her crazy colors and silly stories. She and some campers made beautiful balloon creatures all afternoon. I dropped by to say hello then made my way over to Tennis to see how everyone’s serves are coming along, then dropped into the Play—the cast of “Caps for Sale” has made significant progress on their performance, just in time for the Castle Revue!
Tonight’s Evening Program was Movie Night and after all of the campers snuggled up into their pajamas and were treated to a delicious Bag Supper, we all packed into Castle to watch “Hercules.” The movie was a huge hit with the campers, who sang along to all of the songs and didn’t stop singing until Taps played. Thursdays are really the best days here at camp.
