Sunday Folly and Merrie-ment

2017_07_02What a day, what a day! I always love Sundays for the food and the company, but today was extra special because we had so many visitors! It was so good to see family, friends, and alumnae return to camp for a service brought to us by John Brantley and a good fried chicken lunch. After all the excitement and reunion in the morning followed by a well-deserved rest hour, the campers all scattered for their Sunday activities, which included a scavenger hunt, tie-dyeing, slip n’ slide, hikes to Panthertown, Silver Run Falls, Iron Bridge, Satulah Mountain, as well as a special trip for the cast of Peter and the Starcatcher, an outing to the Flat Rock Playhouse to see the musical Annie. It was quite a rambunctious time all around, and I’m sure everyone had great fun in all of their activities. Tonight’s Cookout was superhero-themed, so I put on my best-looking cape and tried out my best death-defying life leaps to show off my near-superpower cat-like reflexes. During Campfire we were lucky enough to be told a Jack Tale by none other than Chase and John Brantley. I can’t remember a time when a Campfire was as lighthearted. Finally, after a long day of old friends and new experiences, I am glad to call it a night.

Goodnight, so long, goodbye,

Tajar
