What a beautiful day to be at camp on this first day of July! Today, I made my way over to the Jazz dance class and practiced my best turns. Afterwards, I visited swimming down on the lake where the campers were learning freestyle. The water looked very inviting, but I managed to keep myself from splashing around and disturbing the lesson. Down at the barn after lunch, the campers were enjoying a ground lesson and learning everything from how to groom, to how to wrap legs, to how to clean and condition tack. Next, I stopped in on the play rehearsal and helped the campers with their British accents, and made my way to Contemporary dance where the campers blew me away with the beginnings of what will be their dance for Final Shows.
Tonight’s Evening Program was CMW Jeopardy with such categories as camp songs, CMW history, Dammie Day, Camp Directors, and everyone’s favorite, Camp Dogs. Millie even made a guest appearance as presenter extraordinaire. I do believe everyone had a good time answering the fun facts about camp, as well as dancing their hearts out in between rounds. Now for some good summer sleep!
