Today’s weather matched my feelings—a bit drizzly and with a break for sunset. The drizzly part comes from it being the last day of Monday/Wednesday/Friday classes. I went around to stained glass to see some amazing 3-D projects that absolutely must be put in the art show, and to ceramics and jewelry where the campers were completing their pieces. I passed by the Nature Nook just in time to see a baby turtle that the class found in the pond. I also managed to make it to the docks just in time to see a camper pass Es in kayaking! But the really exciting moment of the day was when the weather broke right as the sun went down and the play, Androcles and the Lion, began. The cast put on an amazing show in Chapel despite the fact that the weather thus far has not been the best for outdoor activities. I was very excited for an outdoor performance, so I could sit in my favorite spot in the trees, but I was not prepared for the level of theatre that was brought to the Chapel stage. It was as if a real troupe of trained Italian actors graced the grassy circle, and we were all witness to the artistry of the Renaissance. I do hope the cast and crew feel proud of themselves for the amazing work and boundless energy they put into the production.
