Summer Paintin’

2017_06_17Today was a lazy day down by the docks. The sun was warm in the morning so, I lounged around with the boat staff on the lake. Well, I should say that they were on the lake while I was catching rays on the Boathouse roof! Afterwards, I climbed up to my namesake building and joined the guitar class, learning a Beatles mashup.  The knitting class was dyeing their own yarn with Kool-Aid. In the afternoon, I joined the Earthworks class making their own chicken fajitas on a fire they made as a class. The fajitas smelled delicious, but I saved my appetite for when they make brownies next week.

As I passed by the porch of the main office, I noticed a cabin was having muffins with Millie, an Auction/Hunt prize…yummy!  Later, I hopped over to Castle to see the full-tech run thru of the play, complete with sound cues and lights and a pageant wagon that can fit the entire cast! The show looks almost perfect and I cannot wait for the whole camp to see it the day after tomorrow.

Tonight’s Evening Program was Plaque Night and nothing pleases this Tajar more than seeing all the campers making their mark on their cabins with their plaques. During the off-season, I keep myself busy by plaque-spotting or going form cabin to cabin with one camper’s name in mind and seeing how they progressed through the years. How exciting it will be in September, to peek into a cabin and see the campers all together again, forever painted on a plaque.

The frogs send their love,

Tajar
