As we reach the halfway point of the session, I can’t help but take a step back—or a death-defying life leap back—and look at how far we’ve come so far. The art classes are finishing up their first projects and beginning their final projects, the boaters are beginning to display their proficiency, and the play is nearly staged! I visited the barn this morning, and peeked form the hemlock branches to watch the Squire and Knight classes jumping cross rails and practicing their trot poles before their overnight tonight. Mountaineering was gone for the morning on an adventurous half day hike, so I took the opportunity to do some low ropes with a Yeoman cabin. Afterwards, I made my way down to the landsports field to watch a gripping game of kickball. Tonight’s Evening Program was The Healing Force! King Arthur’s Court was practically shaking during the Funga Circle when all of the campers joined the band to play everyone’s favorite song, “Funga Alafia!” The camper drummers and dancers also played their part very well, and had a great time doing it, too. The Healing Force always brings the true community out in the campers, and I’m glad to say that tonight was no different.
