Today must have been the first entirely sunny day of the summer! The weather was so pleasant that I spent the whole morning swinging around in the sun with the tennis classes up at the newly cleaned tennis courts. I had to dodge some lobs, but the campers definitely improved their aim by the end of the class. After a long morning at the courts, I leaped down to the swim docks to watch the beginner swim class. What fun they were having! The water looked so refreshing, but I refrained from jumping in and interrupting their waterslide jubilee. All the while, the kayakers were on a trip to the Upper French Broad and had a blast going down the smooth river. In the afternoon, I passed by the ceramics classes making tiny clay houses for my fairy friends, the jewelry classes creating beautiful earrings, and the play cast blocking their masterpiece. By the end of the fourth activities period I had travelled all across camp, so I took a well-deserved nap and woke up just in time for Whose Line Is It Anyway! The two teams of counselors faced off in a competition of improv and merriment and King Arthur’s was ringing with laughter until it was time for TAPS to play. I always love ending the day with laughter; it makes me sleep deeply, and dream lightly.
Ever with folly,
Tajar
