What a beautiful day from start to finish! With the exception of a little drizzle in the afternoon, the weather was warm, the sun was inviting, and the clear sky provided a beautiful backdrop to a full day of activities!
From morning until lunch, we had a fun time horsin’ around at the Barn! We jumped the gun and went straight into riding today. With only ten days, we have no time to waste! We also gave Barney, one of my favorite horse friends, a bath. He’s all clean and shiny now!
Down at the docks, we played around in the water and learned the ins and outs of the Boathouse. We learned how to measure our paddles to make sure that we use the right length. We also learned how to pick out the ideal boat for our size, and we heard all of the Boathouse rules! The next few days, it’ll be full commotion as we jump, dive and paddle in the water. The lake was also so warm today! It was truly a treat.
In the rest of our awesome activities, we played name games to get to know each other and used our common interests to break some of that first-day-ice! We started making projects in Ceramics, Arts and Crafts, and Jewelry already! I know they’re going to turn out so great by the time the session is over.
We hopped around today to get cabin photos for the end of session log. Seeing all the smiling faces and cute cabins always warms my Tajar heart!
We also had free swim today after fifth period which was so much fun. Everyone grabbed a buddy and jumped on in! I can’t believe this is the last group of campers to enjoy the lake until 2020…that’s crazy!
For tonight’s Evening Program, we had Deck the Counselor! In all sorts of unique and creative ways, campers acted out funny skits and dances on the Castle stage in front of everyone. We had dance parties, make overs, and a group of gals storm Area 51! It was so entertaining to watch every cabin get up there and show us what they’ve got!
