Today was the final Sunday of the session and I did my best to give it my all. After a hearty meal of quiche and such, we all sat down for the Chapel service during which the Advanced Dance class and Glee Club put on collaboration. I certainly was left with goosebumps after their performance! In the afternoon I bounced between activities such as making the decorations for Christmas in July (a fast approaching and highly anticipated event), boating, rehearsal for the musical (another highly anticipated event), and soccer golf, among others.
The theme for cookout was Wild Safari, so I decided to go au natural and flaunt my jaguar/badger/tiger looks, finding I fit right in with the crowds of campers. Tonight’s Evening Program was Follows the Gleam, one of my absolute favorite. As always, the campers who have attended Merrie Woode for the longest time, put on a pageant telling the story of King Arthur and the quest of the Knights of the Round Table to seek the Holy Grail. Beneath Old bald, across from the water, and lit by the blaze of hundreds of candles, the scene was beautiful and timeless as ever. I can only hope that the campers, when they do leave, will remember the view and the words that urged them to follow the gleam.
