Clik here to view.Today was the Swim and Boat Meet, which was a well-deserved break from the activities we’ve been doing for quite some time. We all got to spend the beautiful morning out on the docks, participating in exciting races such as canoeing without a paddle and the Merrie Woode special. Even though the events were competitions, all of the campers had a blast splashing around and being together. In the afternoon, the Would Bes and their crews participated in the Crew Race, which involved the unveiling of the Would Bes’ paddles and Crew Skits to show off the Would Bes’ hard work throughout the session. The race itself consisted of a crew of three campers and a Would Be paddling from the point to the swimming area. The winning crew tipped over their boat in the swimming area, as per tradition, as the whole camp cheered them on.
Tonight’s Evening program was the first of two nights of the long awaited Director’s Showcase! Tonight’s bill was made up of camper- and junior counselor-directed scenes from The Burial at Thebes, Steel Magnolias, and Radium Girls. The directors have spent the entire session selecting the scenes, cast, lights, costumes, staging, props, sets, and more for their shows and the entire camp is extremely proud of the effort and commitment these directors have put into these projects. After the show, the directors had the chance to answer questions about their scenes and they not only showed great knowledge about their plays, but true passion for the arts. What a wonderful day filled with great feats, culminations of hard work, and dedication paying off!
With great pride,
Tajar
