This morning it was drizzling so I wrung out my tail and headed down to Jewelry to see what the jewelers were up to. As a matter of fact they were in the middle of making copper cuffs and wire earrings. Despite the rain, some brave paddlers did get into canoes and kayaks to practice their strokes and form. In Castle, Drama was choosing their scene for final shows—they really did get a head start on that one—and the camper directors were discussing their plays which will be performed at the end of the session in Director’s Showcase. Since today is a Thursday, we had our first Pizza Thursday of the session at lunch today! Nothing fills me more than a large helping of pizza made by our own JCs!
In the afternoon the sun peeked out through the clouds and I decided to visit Earthworks on the waterfall field, where the campers were learning how to fly fish. I ventured up to the tennis courts to see if the tennis players were out once the rain had subsided, and I found myself in the middle of an enormous game of jailbreak! I scurried on down to the Arts and Crafts hut to avoid the projectiles, and observed the artists hard at work on paper mache candle jars. After making one myself—green and grey of course—I made my way to Bag Supper, another of the Thursday favorites. Similarly, tonight’s Evening Program was Movie Night, and the campers had a blast snuggling up in Castle, munching on popcorn and watching The Princess and the Frog There was singing and dancing and much jubilation for the movie, and it was the perfect way to end this rainy day.
Well rested and well adjusted,
Tajar
