This morning I woke up to the bright sun shining from behind Old Bald and I knew that it was going to be a good day. Even when it began to drizzle, my mood never slipped as the campers went off to their second day of activities. I started it out with a lovely stroll to Archery, where I witnessed the first bull’s eye of the session! Up in Castle, the woodworkers were already hard at work creating wooden name tags, and in Zumba the campers were working up a sweat and having a great time dancing first thing in the morning. In King Arthur’s Court the tumbling classes were practicing back walkovers and the like, while the Tennis and Landsports classes were staying dry by playing basketball and slacklining with some help from Mountaineering.
In the afternoon I stopped into the first rehearsal of this session’s musical, Crazy for You. After the cast list came out this morning, all of the campers were so excited to begin working on this spectacular musical. I almost wish that I, too, could tap dance, if only to join them onstage for their performances. Tonight’s Evening Program was Auction, in which all of the cabins vied for marvelous prizes such as Dinner at the Dunns, muffins with the camp dogs, and milk and cookies in Tajar (I might sneak in on that one). There was much laughter and the stakes were high but everyone ended the night happily with a dance party. Now it is time to dry my socks, and tuck myself in to my tiny piney bed.
