Today was the first day of activities, and the campers were out and about with their middies on and ties tied, ready to face the day. First I stopped by the docks to see how the paddlers were spending their first day in the lake. Starmate swimming was busy working on their dives, while a River Safety Course was out practicing for the upcoming rivers this week. In the Nature Nook the campers were playing with the chickens, collecting eggs, and learning all about our feathered friends. In ceramics the sculptors were creating beautiful pinch pots of clay, and campers in the Arts and Crafts hut were working away on memory jars full of Merrie Woode things.
Tonight’s Evening Program was Deck the Counselor, in which the all of the cabins made their counselors dress up and act silly for the enjoyment of the rest of us. From makeovers to Merrie Woode’s Got Talent shows, the Castle stage was filled with laughs and crazy costumes; just the thing to put us all in a good mood for the rest of the session.
