Today was the final day of June Session and a somber sense could be felt throughout camp despite the hustle and bustle of packing, recognitions and awards, and Final Shows. The recognitions began this morning in Chastle (Castle in Chapel), where swimmers, archers, tennis players, mountaineers, boaters, and horseback riders were congratulated for all of their achievements throughout the session. Then it was on to synchronized swimming, where the swimmers showed their stuff with their routine to “You Belong With Me.”

After Rest Hour, we all scampered up to the covered arena to see the Drill Team perform to “Strut” by the Cheetah Sisters astride their trusty steeds covered in cheetah spots! The performance was followed by the rest of Final Shows in Castle, among which were performances by dance classes, glee club, guitar classes, ukulele classes, and tumbling. After all of the talented campers showed off for the rest of us, it was time for the final game of the camper-counselor tennis tournament. Soon it was time for our final meal together—we all gathered in the Dining Hall to have a Banquet feast and wandered over to Castle for Banquet songs and reflections upon the session as one large camp group. With the Centennial approaching faster than ever, the end of this session cannot be more important in my mind as signifying how fast time flies and how we must always remember to return to the place which is most fond in our memories.

Until next summer, goodnight,

Tajar
