Today was a great day full of sunshine and merriment! In the morning, we all got to sleep in because it is a Sunday, and we all ate the traditional breakfast of quiche and cinnamon rolls in our Sunday Whites and Green Ties. During Chapel, we had a very special guest join us, Captain Rainbow! We also had a lovely performance by Glee Club of “My Wish” by Rascall Flatts.
This afternoon, the campers had a great time playing BINGO in the Dining Hall and painting their plaques to commemorate their time in the cabins. There was paint everywhere and lots of dance parties. For dinner, Mountaineering hosted a huge America-themed cookout. All of the campers loved the al-American burgers and hot dogs.
Tonight’s Evening program was Follow the Gleam, my favorite event of the session. The Counselors put on the traditional pageant, dressing up as the knights and pages of King Arthur’s Round Table, and telling the story of the quest for the Holy Grail. After the pageant ended, we all took up a candle and set them afloat on the lake before singing Taps.
Sweet dreams of eternal light,
Tajar
