Making the Mozart of Our Time

2017-07-18The amount of work that has been done this session is becoming very apparent as I make my way around camp. This morning, I stopped by the Jazz dance class to watch some of their Final Shows performance. It looks amazing! I stopped by Weaving afterwards to inspect everyone’s chairs and stools, and then went over to Jewelry to see what they were up to. They have just finished making their silver rings and are moving on to making pendants.

It was Half-Day Wall Day at the climbing wall in King Arthur’s Court, so in the afternoon I scampered up there and peeked in to see the campers climbing up. Afterwards, I took a quick look into Castle where the cast of the play was finishing their first full run-through with the audience of their crew! The show is really coming together and I can’t wait for all of camp to see it.

Tonight we were joined by some incredible musicians for our Evening Program, Chamber Music. This filled me with immense joy because it is one of my favorite events. Music has been a part of Merrie-Woode and her history since her beginning. For as long as I can remember, there has been singing, clapping, and music-making all over camp, and it pleases me to see the tradition being carried on.

In a sentimental mood,

Tajar
