Today was the first day of activities, and it was most definitely one to remember. After breakfast and the very first Devotional in the new Castle (woohoo!), I made my way down to the Nature Nook just in time to greet the sheep and the chickens with a Farm and Garden class. Afterwards I hopped over to the lake, but on my way I was lucky enough to witness the very first bull’s eye of the session. On Lake Fairfield I paddled with Canoeing, helped the Would Bes rig a sailboat, and did some H2O exercise with the Water Aerobics class. There sure is nothing quite like splashing around on a hot summer’s day!
Up next was a good nap during Rest Hour, and then a tour through Castle to get to the new music room on the second floor. Back down the stairs I dropped in on the first Scene Study class of the session and greeted the camper directors. What fun they’ll have in the upcoming weeks preparing for Director’s Showcase! This afternoon was also an event of great importance, auditions of Peter and the Starcatcher. This Tajar was mighty impressed by the performances the actors gave this afternoon, and wishes everyone involved good luck!
Tonight’s Evening Program was Auction and the prizes lined up for all of the cabins to bid on included Dinner at the Dunns, Muffins with Millie, a Rest Hour Dock Party, and, everyone’s favorite, Taquitos with Tajar Tale! I hope the cabin that won the prize remembers to invite me to their little fiesta when the time comes…
With great anticipation,
Tajar
