The only thing better than Thursdays at Merrie-Woode are Thursdays at Thursdays at Merrie-Woode when the sun is shining and Lip Sync Battle is the Evening Program! But before we got to tonight’s events, I passed the morning by wandering around on the docks and the shores of Lake Fairfield watching the swimmers, canoers, sailors and kayakers paddle around in the sun. It was a hot, hot day so I decided to take a dip along with them, PFD included. After my refreshing splash, I peeked into the kitchen and spied the JCs making pizza for lunch! After a good meal and a rest hour perfectly timed for the mid-afternoon rainstorm, I made my way over to ceramics just in time to catch the class glazing their first projects. Also in the afternoon, Mountaineering went on a venturesome half day hike up a new Old Bald path, Boating took a trip to the Nantahala River and Drama successfully completed the first run-thru for the play! By the time Bag Supper rolled around, the sun was once again shining, and the campers were anxious for the anticipated Evening Program to begin. From the sounds of it—namely the laughter and singing along—Lip Sync Battle was surely a success and the teams of counselors were happy not only to perform or to win, but to see how happy and involved the campers were. This makes me very happy too.
Happily, happily, happily,
Tajar
