As we wrap up a great session and summer under Old bald, I can’t help but be grateful for all the great things camp brought us this year. This, being our 101st summer, was filled with smiles, laughter, accomplishments, dance parties, campfire songs, s’mores, and everything else I can’t think of right now because, truth be told, I’m a tired Tajar. We’ve spent so much time together (myself and the campers) even though they can never see me! I’ve learned so much about them. I’ve seen them both struggle and succeed, and I can say with confidence, that Merrie-Woode girls are the best girls in the world.
I’ve been so lucky to have spent my summer in such a beautiful and inspiring place. I am grateful for every day of sunshine, all the rest hours of rain, and all of the clear skies at night that showcase an arena of stars. The pictures, as nice as they may be, will never do this place justice.
We closed off the session with waffles for breakfast (a camp favorite) and BLTs for lunch. We watched Synchronized Swimming’s final show (they killed it!) and went to our 1st-3rd activities. This afternoon, we were comfy and cozy up in Castle watching a fun movie and enjoying some camp broccoli!
After the movie, we dressed in our finest attire for the beloved evening Program of Banquet! Counselors poked fun of some of the trends this session and dressed up in some funny costumes. We had yummy pasta and chicken for dinner and then headed up to Castle for a skit, songs, and slideshow. We laughed together, cried together, and said goodnight to each other. And then we were off to bed…
