Clik here to view. The llamas are back! We love running wild around camp with some of our favorite furry friends. Mark, the llama man, inundated us with fun facts about these cool creatures while we hung out with them today. Did you know llamas have three chambers in their stomachs? And that their coats are so thick that they can’t get flees, tics, or lice? They’re also hypoallergenic! While running around, Mark told Tajar that on Amazon Prime, there’s a show called “Highways to Fairways” and on episode 3, the llamas make a special appearance. Additionally, if you’re looking for somewhere to stay for drop off and pick up, the llamas make great company at Earthshine Lodge, and great caddies at Llama Caddy NC!
This morning, at the crack of dawn, the caving trip set out for Tennessee to explore one of the largest underground caves in North America! They were fully equipped in caving suits with helmets, headlamps and sturdy shoes. They came back muddy and exhausted, but happy and fulfilled, nonetheless. How many people can say they’ve been caving with some of their best friends?
For some more adventure, we set out on our Low Ropes course this morning. Girls picked a partner and used teamwork to navigate the obstacles, closer to the ground than the High Ropes course! I tagged along and had a blast, but stayed far enough behind that they wouldn’t see me!
We also hiked up Rainbow Falls today, which was such a great time! The scenic waterfall offers a great swimming hole and breathtaking views. Not to mention, the hike isn’t too strenuous, but it sure feels nice to cool off in the mist of the falls after the trek up there!
In camp, we hooked up Big John, which, as the name insinuates, is our largest horse! He pulled a wagon of a few girls and counselors on a trip around camp! We love having a horse big enough that we can attach the wagon for all day fun and to take a little tour on…not horseback…but horse carriage!
In our performing arts activities, the girls finalized their performances in anticipation for tonight’s big show! The girls took to the Castle stage tonight in the Castle Revue Evening program to showcase their session’s work! We had tumbling, dancing, singing, ukulele and guitar playing, a musical theater performance, and the play, “Where the Wild Things Are”!
My favorite activity I peeked into today was making sleeping face masks and decorating them! It made me sleeeeeepy…so with that, I’m off! Don’t forget to check out TODAY’S PHOTOS HERE!
Hoppily,
Tajar
