Hey there and happy Friday! We had a busy day over here at camp, and I can’t wait to tell you all about it! For starters, we had a trip set out to the Brevard Nature Center. The center is like a mini zoo and it’s filled with interesting facts about nature and it even has some cool animals in it too! On top of that, we had Wall Day this morning and girls got to put on harnesses, helmets, and climbing shoes and take a knock at the rock wall in King Arthur’s Court!
Then, this afternoon, the Balloon Fairy came and taught us all kinds of cool balloon twisting maneuvers. We made rocket ship balloons and got to pet the Fairy’s bunny rabbit, Abby! This morning, we also sent a trip out on the Upper French Broad River! Girls paddled ‘til their hearts’ content and enjoyed the mild rapids. I also included pictures from yesterday’s trip to Grimshaw’s Sliding Rock!
In Ceramics today, girls hopped on the wheel and crafted their bowls from blobs of clay. The finished pieces are beautiful! Girls in Arts and Crafts finished their paintings from yesterday and began new projects. Today, they worked on these really cool pieces of special paper that reflect and absorb the light, kind of like stained glass, and can be hung in windows!
We also kicked up some dust on another trail ride today in Riding. Girls took their horses all around camp and up through the woods for a scenic and peaceful experience! In Synchronized Swimming, the choreography has come together more and more everyday with the end goal of a spectacular Final Show close in sight!
Down at the docks, we paddled around and splashed in the warm water. We also set sail on the open lake with some light winds pushing us in all the right directions!
We had a fabulous day and ended it in the best way possible: Talent Night! Girls took the stage dancing and singing, with all sorts of super awesome acts in between! Some of my favorites were the magic acts and the ukulele mash ups!
To end the night, Millie, a beloved camp dog, superman-jumped off of a bench…who knew even the pups here were so talented?
