Hello July! The warm welcomes today from the second half of the year were much appreciated under Old Bald! We played in the water today, both in and outside of camp, and enjoyed the first day of this month to the fullest extent!
Up in the air, Low Ropes took off today with the JCs on the course. A river trip on the rapids of some of the most beautiful and natural parts of North Carolina was a success! Some of the girls fell asleep on the ride home, but who could blame them? The paddling life is strenuous sometimes! Lucky for them, they’ll be able to laugh off any aches and pains tonight during one of our funniest Evening Programs, Whose Line is it Anyway?
Whose Line is a camp classic. The funny improvisation show put on by some of our counselors sure makes the crowd go wild. Some of tonight’s highlights were the new Wild Card player. She can play for either team whenever she wants!
Between dinner and Evening Program, we had Free Boats! Girls could enjoy time on the lake with their friends on this beautiful evening. Down at the docks today, the Would Bes took to the slalom course and absolutely crushed it.
For an exciting, out-of-state adventure, some Mountaineers went to Tennessee and checked out the caving scene. While underground, they enjoyed crawling through tight spaces, getting dirty, and most of all, having fun!
The girls in Ceramics hopped on the wheel today and started really pretty bowls and mugs. After they let them dry and get fired in the kiln, they’ll be ready for glazing! The finished products during Main Session are always so beautiful because we have so much time to work on them!
In Arts and Crafts, girls colored some funky shrinky-dinks that were then heated and shrunk! Some of the designs looked really yummy, like the ice cream sandwich and the pizza! *Stomach’s now growling!* I’m already excited about Thursday’s pizza!
The copper bracelets coming along in Jewelry are going to be sparkly and dazzling once they’re finished! All of the crafts in camp are rockin’ right now! And the girls in Archery, Landsports, Tumbling and all sorts of other sporty classes are keeping the energy levels at camp through the roof. I love walking into a Dance or Tumbling class and seeing all of the fun new moves the girls have mastered that day! Makes me wish I was more flexible.
All in all, what a great day! A whole bunch of steps later, I’m off! Goodnight, y’all!

Laughing with a full belly,
Tajar
