Oops! Sometimes Tajar and technology aren’t in sync, which explains why in today’s pictures, there are a lot of Sunday Activity pictures. Those sadly got left behind when I uploaded the Sunday pictures. Please forgive my mistake, they’re here now!
Bum’s Rest played a prank on all of us this morning and turned the Dining Hall into the set of “High School Musical” and sang and danced with full energy, even at 8 am!
Farm and Garden took a field trip to an organic farm and pasture. It sure looked tasty!
Secondly, I don’t think campers are quite ready to leave. Tonight at dinner, they sang songs with lyrics such as “I don’t want to go home,” (which sent a pretty clear message) as well as, “back to civilization.” I think we’re pretty civil here! But then again, maybe not!
Closing Campfire brings as much joy as it does sadness. Girls who are eligible to receive their Merrie-Woode bracelets get them in the middle of Campfire, and they proudly display their new bling with the embers reflecting in the freshly polished silver. The spirit of Merrie-Woode is then carried back into the lake, signifying the end of a session (*wipes tears*) and our very own Kelli Talley was selected as the one to bring it out in the canoe. We were all teary eyed as she, with her new bracelet on her wrist, carried the flame away.
Although Main Session is rapidly approaching, there’s still the lingering feeling of loss that comes with the end of a session. We will miss this smiling faces, their laughter and peppiness, their jokes and spirit, and, most of all, their ability to light camp up at the start of each summer. No other group of girls can begin summer on a note like this quite like they can!
The Final Show rehearsals look dapper (as expected) and I simply cannot wait to see the final versions of the Final Shows! What I’ve been lucky enough to see from my treetop view was splendid. I imagine in full costume with performance-day energy, they’ll be spectacular!
