A true Merrie-Woode girl isn’t afraid of a little rain here and there. The show must go on. Tonight’s Evening program was Scavenger Hunt, and we sent the girls on a mission to find all sorts of hidden clues around camp! We split into green and grey teams and set off on our quest! Hint: the girls had fun!
The strong drizzle avoided us all day long and only hit around late evening. So before that, we took in the sunshine all day long. The July heat contrasts nicely with the cool lake and makes for an awesome afternoon down at the docks.
We were so happy to welcome home the girls who went on the Two Day Climb! They had quite an adventure and really solid weather to accompany it. I followed them on their way up the rock face, but I eventually returned to camp to see the action going on here! Hint: (shh, don’t tell them I’m giving any hints tonight) they know how to make climbing helmets look cool.
River trips also went out and had a blast paddling on the rapids. I may be a good climber, but I’m a bit of a bobble-head in the boat. My paws don’t grip the paddle well and my shoulders aren’t broad enough. It’s rather difficult. Anyway, they looked like they had a super duper fun time!
All sorts of crafty and dancey things took place in camp as well. In Dance classes, girls are well into their Final Show dances and tweaking and perfecting their moves with time to spare! In Arts and Crafts, Stained glass, and Ceramics, tons and tons of projects are near complete and looking fabulous! It’s so amazing to see what the girls all make with their imaginations.
For some fun facts of the day: in boating, two girls rolled a double kayak which was very impressive, and, in riding, a young gal rode Big John, our biggest horse in camp! *Clapping my paws for them*
We are stoked for the Fourth of July tomorrow! Get ready for an Independence Day celebration: Merrie-Woode style. Hint: (last one for the night) it’s gonna be great!
